We
invite you to participate in our third annual
Walk for Autism awareness and Logan’s Run-5K
Race; in memory of Logan Mitcheltree, a young
boy with autism.
Date:
Saturday April 12, 2008
Place:
City Island, Harrisburg PA
Time:
10:00 am: Logan’s Run 5K Race. Registration and
sign-in at 9:00 am.
12:00 pm: Walk for
Autism; a Family/Kid Fun Walk for autism
awareness.
Registration
and sign-in at 11:00 am.
Emcee
will be Sherry
Christian of CBS WHP 21.
Music by radio
station Smooth Jazz 92.7.
Fee:
Runners-$15.00 if pre-registered, $20.00 on race
day.
Walkers-
FREE
PA Speaker of the House,
Dennis O’Brien will serve as the event’s
Honorary Chair. Speaker O’Brien has been a
legislative champion on behalf of children and
families impacted by an autism spectrum
disorder.
There
will be cash awards for the overall male and
female winners of Logan’s Run 5K and a
recognition gift for the male/female winner in
each age group. Special recognition will also go
to the individual and team who raise the most
funds.
Refreshments, raffle prizes, inflatable
amusements for the kids, information about
autism, and autism related items for sale will
all be part of the event.
All
proceeds raised for the event will go to the
Greater Harrisburg Area Chapter of the Autism
Society of America (ASA) and benefit individuals
and families living with autism in a 12 county
area within the Capital Region.
The
Chapter is committed to providing information
and education to families and professional care
providers; personal support and networking
opportunities; social and recreational events
for both children and adults; and advocacy for
the interests of individuals and families served
by the Chapter. The Chapter also supports the
efforts of the local and national therapeutic
and research communities.
The cause of autism remains
unknown and there is no cure, but your
willingness to participate in this event
provides hope and the promise of a better
quality of life for those diagnosed and their
families. On behalf of the Greater Harrisburg
Area Chapter of the ASA, we thank you in advance

hour before each of

2 Logan's Run - 5K Race
Participant Fees: $15.00 pre-registered.
$20.00 day of event. You may pay the
participant fee online by going to the following site. (opens in a
separate window)

When you
get to the site, click on the "Donate Now"
button. Fill out all the information you
normally would
when making a payment online. Two things you must do to have the
money go toward your participant fee
are
a. In the "I want to
contribute" box enter the number "15" (or
multiple of 15 if you are paying for more
than one runner).
b. In the "Designation (Optional)" box
enter the words "Logan's Run"

3 You may make donations to
the walk online by following the instructions in
2 above and replace the
words "Logan's Run" with "2008 Walk". If you are donating to
sponsor an individual walker or a walk team,
add the following words "sponsoring" and then the individual's
(or team's) name.
