Greater Harrisburg Chapter Grant Request Process  

 
The Greater Harrisburg Chapter ASA is interested in funding projects that:
 
bullet Directly benefit individuals with autism residing in Central Pennsylvania;
bullet Are collaborative efforts between agencies, professionals, and individuals;
bullet Have the potential to continue beyond the grant period;
bullet And, are innovative in nature.

 Guidelines:

bullet The agency, professional, and or individuals requesting money must utilize the funding within our geographic region (Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry, Juniata, Lebanon, Lancaster, Mifflin, Northumberland, Snyder, Union, and York Counties).
bullet Grants may range from $500 to $1500.
bullet All applicants must have tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status as a non-profit organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. Individuals who have an interest should team with a tax-exempt organization.
bullet All applicants must submit a completed application with proposed budget attached. The deadline for applications is April 1st (each year). Our board of directors will provide notice of approval/denial by June 15th.  You may submit applications at any time of the year for consideration.
bullet The results of your project/program must be presented at a Greater Harrisburg ASA Chapter meeting within one year of approval.
bullet Your grant application will be scored in the following areas:
 
  1. Need
  2. Impact
  3. Purpose/Goals
  4. Collaboration
  5. Sustainability
  6. Budget
  7. Innovation
  8. Overall Quality and Completeness

 *Typically, the Greater Harrisburg ASA will not approve grants that:

bullet Are made by any individual or group without tax-exempt status.  
bullet Request funding for a project that has already been completed.  
bullet Do not benefit a broad range of individuals with autism residing in our region.
bullet Seek payment for a job or educational requirement.

 *These are general guidelines. If there are extenuating circumstances, the board has
   the authority to distribute funds by majority vote.
